See a modern holiday classic on the big screen! The romantic and heartfelt "Love Actually" has become a perennial favorite of the season. The 2003 film tells the Christmas-set tale of nine intertwined stories and one emotion that connects them all: love.

Among the characters are David (Hugh Grant), the handsome newly elected British prime minister who falls for a young junior staffer (Martine McCutcheon), Sarah (Laura Linney), a graphic designer whose devotion to her mentally ill brother complicates her love life, and Harry (Alan Rickman), a married man tempted by his attractive new secretary.

The Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) now offers a year-round Cinematheque program that brings classic American and foreign movies to local audiences. The Cinematheque presents a rare opportunity to see the best films from the history of cinema on the big screen. Each screening will be preceded by an introduction from a film personality to make the viewing experience even more enriching.

Casablanca showing will be on Saturday, December 22nd at 6pm at 500 Tallevast Rd, Sarasota, FL 34243. Snacks and refreshments will be available. Guests are invited to stay after the movie to chat with other cinephiles.

The Cinematheque program returns in January with the showing of Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece Rashomon (1950). A full schedule of many new events is coming soon!
