Come out to the country for the Southwest Florida Heritage Festival. Hear, see, smell, and taste what it was like to be a Florida pioneer in the mid 1800s and early 1900s. The Southwest Florida Heritage Festival is an exciting day filled with family activities such as pony rides, hay rides, and fabulous food by Susy Q II along with beverages, including beer, and wine. Enjoy live demonstrations of pioneer and cowboy skills, a civil war re-enactment and camp life, blacksmithing, a wild west shootout and whipcracking. Pioneer re-enactors demonstrate sugar cane syrup making, cracker open fire cooking, soap making, butter churning and smokehouse operation, and antique steam engines. Interact with the demonstrators to get first hand knowledge about the skills and tools the pioneers needed to survive in early Florida. Travel along with our guides who introduce you to southwest Florida pioneer history and the wonders of our natural spaces. Nature and History Tours are scheduled several times during the day.
